CVCC Lady Bucs Basketball
The new CVCC women's basketball program is already taking shape with the employment of Tommy Edwards as head coach. An educator for 35 years, Edwards coached the Bunker Hill High School girls’ varsity team for the past 23 years.
“CVCC is well known for its academics. I’m really excited to be part of expanding the athletic program,” said Edwards. “This area is strong in women’s basketball, and I hope to see many of those talented young women play for CVCC.”
Even after winning over 400 games and 17 championships, Edwards is blazing new trails starting a team “from scratch.”
“This is new territory for me, but I’m setting my goal high,” said Edwards. “I want to win a national championship, and I want that to be the goal of every player I recruit.”
