Concurrent Enrollment At CVCC
Preparing for concurrent enrollment requires action on the part of a student, his/her High School Counselor and CVCC. We are able to assist students who have fulfilled the following procedures:
The Process for STUDENTS Complete CVCC Application and mark “Concurrent Enrollment” as your program of study. If you choose to complete your CVCC Application online, you must do so in time to make your admissions visit on or before the December 11, 2009 deadline.
Complete CVCC Concurrent Enrollment Form and have your High School Counselor sign the form. (This is a triplicate “NCR” form and not available online; please come by Student Services to get one.)
Bring your completed CVCC Application and Concurrent Enrollment Form to the CVCC Student Services Office and meet with a CVCC admissions counselor on or before the December 11, 2009 deadline.
Take COMPASS Placement Test. At your visit with an Admissions Counselor, you will be provided a schedule of test dates. You do not need an appointment to take placement testing and there is no fee to take the test. (If you have SAT or ACT scores that you wish to use, you must have an official copy sent to CVCC Student Records by the published deadline date. We no longer use SAT or ACT scores provided by your high school.)
The above items must be completed and received in the CVCC Student Services Office by the published deadline or you cannot register for classes. If for any reason you are unable to meet with your High School Counselor to obtain his/her signature on the Concurrent Enrollment Form, you will not be allowed to register at CVCC.
The Process for HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELORSCertify the student is 16 years old AND certify the student is enrolled in one half of the school day.
Send the student to the CVCC Student Services Office with their completed CVCC Application and the SIGNED Concurrent Enrollment Form where they will meet with a CVCC Admissions Counselor. (COMPASS scores cannot be loaded into our data system until the application is activated. The application is activated following a meeting with an Admissions Counselor.)
Additional Notes Course/seat availability is limited and offered as available.
Students should bring to their admissions visit a list of 2 nd,3 rd,4 th, 5 th choices for courses.
